ACS Nano Paper on Gold Nanorod Photothermal Therapy Published

Our paper “Gold Nanorod–Lipid Hybrid Nanoparticles Enable Near-Infrared Photothermal Ablation of Drug-Resistant Tumors” is now published in ACS Nano.

This collaborative work between the Yanan Lab and the Westfield Medical School demonstrates that gold nanorods encapsulated in lipid shells can simultaneously deliver chemotherapy drugs and provide photothermal ablation upon NIR laser irradiation. In murine tumor models, the combination therapy achieved 90% tumor regression at doses 5× lower than conventional chemotherapy alone.
